If we understood the anatomy of love would we succumb so easily to sin that ensnares us?

 I ask again.

If we understood the anatomy of love would we succumb so easily to sin that ensnares us?

Problem is, sin knows us well

So we still throw her our pearls.

We put down our crowns to embrace lust;

Guilt remembers our name;

Envy has us hooked;

Jealousy definitely rings a bell;

Because anger still resides nearby,

And bitterness, has the doors of our hearts closed.

It is an unfamiliar place love, so we do not recognise it when it is freely given.

Love, divinely supreme left his rightful place beside the King to wear unworthy sandals on a dust filled earth just to be near to us.

Love said, I am already here waiting, you need only come.

Love, entered our homes even when we felt too short, disregarded or disqualified. Love took a seat at our table.

Love, allowed us to reach Him without caring where our hands had been.

Love, recognised our small voice in the crowd and changed course just to heal us.

Love, told us we were daughters without an earthly adoption certificate.

Cleaned us up, made us whole and embraced us as his bride.

Impregnated us with holy purpose to be birthed on nations.

Mothers of destiny, bringing forth fruit.

Enlisted us as Proverbs 31 recruits.

Sisters do we know this truth?

Because somehow our minds still can’t understand. Can’t comprehend.

We still as love why.

Why is it okay for you to do all of this for me, with me just being me.

Why don’t I have to work to receive you?

Why am I not a slave to you like my old master, sin?

Because I love you, unconditionally

Truth is, love knew our DNA before we knew our names.

That he was the Father. Maury.

So he came to bring us peace

Took on a nature that was alien to Him.

Gathered the pieces of our lives and brought us into unity with the King.

Gave us His name so that we were no longer owned by our flesh but were transformed by the newness of our identities.

Pulled us out of the grasp of our old Master.

Beat the villain with his blood, his body was broken so he could become the only hero. Marvel.

Love, became Christ who died to give us life.

If we understood the anatomy of love would we succumb so easily to sin that ensnared us?
